अर्थ: सिंध की राजधानी ठट्ठा में मिरखशाह नाम का अभिमानी शासक था।
In Thatta, the capital of Sindh, there was an arrogant ruler named Mirkhshah.
अर्थ: वह कपटी, कुटिल, क्रूर और अत्याचारी स्वभाव का था।
He was deceitful, crooked, cruel, and oppressive.
अर्थ: वह सबका धर्म परिवर्तन कराने लगा, जिससे लोग बहुत दुखी हुए।
He forced religious conversion, causing great suffering among the people.
अर्थ: उसने ढिंढोरा पिटवाया कि चारों ओर इस्लाम धर्म स्वीकार किया जाए।
He had an announcement made that everyone should accept Islam.
अर्थ: सिंधी प्रजा बहुत घबरा गई और अपने इष्ट देव को पुकारने लगी।
The Sindhi people became frightened and called upon their chosen deity.
अर्थ: उन्होंने वरुण देव की अनेक प्रकार से पूजा की और उपवास-साधना की।
They worshiped Varuna in many ways and observed fasting and devotion.
अर्थ: सिंधी लोग नदी तट पर चालीस दिन तक घर-घर ईश्वर का ध्यान करते रहे।
The Sindhis meditated on God at the riverbank and in their homes for forty days.
अर्थ: अचानक सिंधु नदी गरज उठी और चारों ओर नया आनंद फैल गया।
Suddenly the Sindhu river roared, spreading new joy everywhere.
अर्थ: वरुण देव ने पुकार सुनी और मछली पर सवार होकर प्रकट हुए।
Varuna heard their call and appeared riding a fish.
अर्थ: जल-ब्रह्म स्वरूप दिव्य पुरुष अनुपम रूप में प्रकट हुए।
A divine being, the water-Brahman, appeared in a unique form.
अर्थ: सभी नर-नारी हर्षित हुए और वरुण देव की महिमा गाने लगे।
All men and women rejoiced and praised the glory of Varuna.
अर्थ: चारों ओर जयकार उठी और अंधेरी रात आशा में बदल गई।
Cries of victory rose everywhere, and the dark night turned into hope.
अर्थ: उन्होंने कहा कि अत्याचारी मिरखशाह की शक्ति नष्ट की जाएगी।
He declared that the power of the tyrant Mirkhshah would be destroyed.
अर्थ: अधर्म को दूर करने के लिए वे शीघ्र नसरपुर में अवतार लेंगे।
To remove unrighteousness, he would soon incarnate in Nasarpur.
अर्थ: उन्होंने कहा कि वे रतनराय-रत्नाणी के आँगन में शिशु बनकर आएँगे।
He said he would come as a child in the home of Ratanrai and Ratnani.
अर्थ: रतनराय के घर आनंद हुआ; झूलेलाल के अवतार पर सबने बधाई दी।
Joy filled Ratanrai’s home, and everyone celebrated Jhulelal’s birth.
अर्थ: घर-घर मंगल गीत गाए गए; झूलेलाल दुख हरने आए।
Auspicious songs were sung in every home; Jhulelal came to remove sorrow.
अर्थ: मिरखशाह तक यह समाचार पहुँचा और उसने क्रोध में मंत्री भेजा।
The news reached Mirkhshah, who angrily sent his minister.
अर्थ: मंत्री ने जब बालक को देखा, तो उसका सारा धैर्य टूट गया।
When the minister saw the child, he lost all his composure.
अर्थ: उसने साईं की अद्भुत और मोहक लीला देखी।
He witnessed Sai’s wondrous and enchanting divine play.
अर्थ: बालक कभी युवा सेनानी जैसा दिखा, जिससे मंत्री की बुद्धि चकरा गई।
The child appeared like a young warrior, bewildering the minister.
अर्थ: प्रभु के योद्धा रूप को देखकर मंत्री का अभिमान मिट गया।
Seeing the Lord’s warrior form, the minister’s pride vanished.
अर्थ: झूलेलाल ने आदेश दिया कि राजा को उनका संदेश सुनाया जाए।
Jhulelal ordered that his message be delivered to the ruler.
अर्थ: मिरखशाह अभिमान छोड़ दे; हिंदू और मुसलमान सब समान हैं।
Mirkhshah should abandon pride; Hindus and Muslims are equal.
अर्थ: नित्य अत्याचार बंद करो और धर्मांतरण का विचार छोड़ दो।
Stop daily oppression and abandon the idea of forced conversion.
अर्थ: परंतु अभिमानी मिरखशाह ने वरुण देव की बात नहीं मानी।
But arrogant Mirkhshah did not accept Varuna’s message.
अर्थ: एक दिन झूलेलाल घोड़े पर सवार होकर दरबार में पहुँचे।
One day Jhulelal rode to the royal court on a horse.
अर्थ: मिरखशाह ने आदेश दिया कि झूलेलाल को बंदी बनाया जाए।
Mirkhshah ordered Jhulelal to be imprisoned.
अर्थ: झूलेलाल ने वरुण स्वरूप धारण किया और चारों ओर जल फैल गया।
Jhulelal assumed the form of Varuna, and water flooded all around.
अर्थ: दरबारी डूबने लगे और राजा को अपनी गलती समझ में आ गई।
The courtiers began to drown, and the ruler regained his senses.
अर्थ: राजा उनके चरणों में गिर पड़ा और साईं की जय-जयकार करने लगा।
The ruler fell at his feet and praised Sai with devotion.
अर्थ: राजा ने अपना आदेश वापस लिया और लोगों के कष्ट दूर हुए।
The ruler withdrew his order, and people’s suffering ended.
अर्थ: संवत 1020 में भाद्र शुक्ल चौदस का शुभ प्रसंग बताया गया है।
This refers to the auspicious Bhadra Shukla Chaturdashi of Samvat 1020.
अर्थ: भक्तों की पीड़ा हरकर जलदेव ने जल में समाधि ली।
After removing devotees’ suffering, the water-deity entered samadhi in water.
अर्थ: जो आज भी उनका ध्यान करता है, वरुण देव उसका कल्याण करते हैं।
Even today, Varuna blesses those who meditate on him.
अर्थ: जो कोई चालीस दिन तक चालीसा का पाठ करता है...
Whoever recites the Chalisa for forty days...
अर्थ: वह मनचाहा फल पाता है और उसका जीवन सुखमय होता है।
Receives the desired fruit and lives a happy life.
अर्थ: झूलेलाल की जय हो; लाल झूलेलाल पधारे हैं।
Victory to Jhulelal; beloved Lal Jhulelal has arrived.
