न हृष्यत्य आत्मसंमाने नावमानेन तप्यते
गाङ्गॊ हरद इवाक्षॊभ्यॊ यः स पण्डित उच्यते

जो व्यक्ति अपनी आत्म-गरिमा पर न तो खुश होता है और न ही अपमान में दुखी होता है, उसे ज्ञानी माना जाता है; ऐसा व्यक्ति शांत नदी की तरह स्थिर रहता है, दूसरों की विचारधाराओं से प्रभावित नहीं होता।
