ततः शक्रः सपृष्टमात्रस तया तु;
सरस्तैर अङ्गैः पतितॊ ऽभूद धरण्याम
तम अब्रवीद भगवान उग्रतेजा;
मैवं पुनः शक्र कृथाः कथं चित

तब, शक्र, जिसे थोड़ी आलोचना का सामना करना पड़ा, अपने शरीर सहित धरती पर गिर गया। भयंकर क्रोध दिखाते हुए भगवान ने उसकी क्रियाओं पर प्रश्न उठाया, यह सुझाते हुए कि उसे फिर से इस तरह का कार्य नहीं करना चाहिए।
