हतं पराङ्मुख परायं निरुत्साहं परं बलम
वयालम्बत महाराज परायशः शस्त्रवेष्टितम

वीर योद्धा पराजित हो गए, दुश्मन का मनोबल नष्ट हो गया, उनके सबसे मजबूत योद्धा निरुत्साहित हुए क्योंकि वे पांडवों, विशेषकर अर्जुन द्वारा फेंके गए बाणों की बारिश से बंध गए थे।
