अहत्वा समरे भीष्मं यदि यास्यसि मारिष
अवहास्यॊ ऽसय लॊकस्य भविष्यसि मया सह

प्रिय मित्र, यदि तुम भीष्म को इस युद्ध में जीवित रहने देते हो, तो तुम्हें दुनिया से अपमान सहना पड़ेगा, और कलंक तुम्हारे साथ रहेगा; इसलिए, मुझे यह सुनिश्चित करना होगा कि उसकी हार हो।
