⚡ Quick Meaning

This shloka illustrates the impact of a ruler’s character on public perception.

Translations

English Translation

Perpetually, a person of lowly character will despise a ruler who lacks patience. Just as a mighty elephant may be corrected with a touch at the head, similarly, a ruler should embrace wisdom to avoid disparagement by his subjects.
