सुनहरे रथ पर पुनः स्थिर होकर, करṇa ने मायावी शक्तियों से प्रभावित होकर इस युद्ध के मैदान की विशालता के सम्मुख ठोकर खाई। उसे एक भ्रांति ने घेर लिया जिसने उसकी युद्ध की संवेदनाओं को विकृत कर दिया।
