⚡ Quick Meaning

Neither a father recognizes his son, nor a son his father in the midst of war’s chaos.

Translations

English Translation

The pandemonium of battle is such that relationships cannot be recognized. A father cannot identify his son, nor can the son see his father, illustrating the brutal disconnection brought on by the horrors of war.

Commentary

Context

This verse powerfully depicts the loss of familial bonds during the chaos of warfare, evoking deep emotional responses.

Meaning

The loss of recognition stresses the idea that war erases personal identities, turning family members into mere combatants.

Application

In conflicts, it is essential to remember our humanity and relationships, as war often obscures empathy and understanding.
