न करुध्येन न परहृष्येच च मानितॊ ऽमानितश च यः
सर्वभूतेष्व अभयदस तं देवा बराह्मणं विदुः

जो व्यक्ति सम्मान या अपमान से न तो क्रोधित होता है और न ही अत्यधिक प्रसन्न, वही वास्तव में ज्ञानी है। ऐसा व्यक्ति सभी जीवों के बीच निर्भीक रहता है, उसके हृदय में शांति बनी रहती है।
