ईदृशॊ न हि राजेन्द्र धर्मः कव चन दृश्यते
परजानां पालने यॊ वै पुरा राजर्षिभिः कृतः
रक्षितव्याः परजा राज्ञा तास तवं रक्षितुम अर्हसि

English Translation

Uttanka emphasizes that such duty of protection is seldom observed among rulers. He reminds the king that he is obligated to safeguard his people as was done by the noble kings of the past.

उत्तङ्क यह बताता है कि सुरक्षा का ऐसा धर्म शासकों में बहुत कम दिखता है। वह राजा को याद दिलाते हैं कि जैसे अतीत के महान राजाओं ने अपने प्रजाओं की रक्षा की थी, उसी प्रकार उनकी भी यह ज़िम्मेदारी है।
