तरिसाहस्र परॊ दायः सत्रियॊ देयॊ धनस्य वै
तच च भर्त्रा धनं दत्तं नादत्तं भॊक्तुम अर्हति

जो धन उपहार के रूप में दिया जाता है, विशेष रूप से महिलाओं को, उसे मिलकर तीन हजार का होना चाहिए और इसका बुद्धिमानी से उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए। पति को इसे अगरदाता की इच्‍छा का सम्मान करते हुए ही लेना चाहिए।
