ततः परणेमुर देवास ते वेपमानाः सम शंकरम
पुनश च संदधे रुद्रॊ दीप्तं सुनिशितं शरम

देवताओं ने रुद्र की भयावह रूप को देखकर भयभीत होकर ऋषियों के साथ एकत्रित होकर पुनः शर्व के प्रति श्रद्धा व्यक्त की। वे सभी भयाक्रांत होकर उन्हें प्रसन्न करने के लिए प्रार्थना करने लगे जिससे कि रुद्र उन्हें अपने संरक्षण में ले सकें।
